A wedding is beautiful celebration of love between two people, but let’s be honest, it wouldn’t be half as much fun without the cake! Here are some of the top wedding cake trends for Jewish ceremonies in 2016, according to Modern Jewish Wedding. Maybe you’d like to feature one of these trends at your upcoming nuptials!

Multiple Cakes

Instead of opting for one large cake with many tiers, many couples are choosing to do a bunch of little cakes sitting next to each other. Not only does this give you more options when it comes to flavor choices, but it also gives you the ability to put a cake on each table – that way your guests won’t have to wait to be served after you cut the cake!

Ombre Wedding CakeOmbre Cakes

This isn’t a style restricted to our hair color, ladies and gentlemen! An ombre cake makes a beautiful addition to your wedding. You can play up your wedding themes and colors by starting with a lighter color icing on the top of your cake, and gradually using darker icing. Your guests will love it!

Naked Cakes

Naked cakes are taking over the wedding world. A naked cake is a cake without the top layer of frosting, so you can see each layer of the cake. This is a great way to feature specialty cakes like red velvet, but it also lets your guests focus on the delicious flavor of the cake. Sometimes that top layer of fondant isn’t the tastiest part, so why not show off what truly gives the cake its scrumptious taste?

Metallic Colors

More and more cakes this year are featuring some sparkle or metallic coloring. Depending on your theme and colors, a bit of metallic flair can add a lot of wow factor to your cake! Maybe you could have one layer of sparkly metallic coloring, or just a ribbon around the top or bottom layer. The sparkle will be sure to catch your guests’ eyes!

Themed

Lots of couples are also choosing to up the ante on the theme of their wedding cake. If you are having an outdoorsy wedding, why not have an outdoorsy cake, too? The outdoor theme for wedding cakes features lots of pretty leaves and flowers, and even some forest-worthy trees. Of course, you can customize your cake to match any theme you’re planning at your nuptials, too!
